How do I download a file?

To download a file that you have received from a contact in a message: 

When you receive a file from a contact, you will see a note that the message includes an attachment right above the message. To download the file without leaving the thread:

1. Tap the file you wish to download.

2. Tap download, this will save a copy of the file on your device.

3. The file can be opened once the download is finished by tapping "Open"

 

To download a file that you have uploaded or have received from a contact: 

All your files, whether uploaded by you or received from your contacts, can be found in the "Files" tab of Peerio. To download these files:

1. Tap the "Files" tab

2. Tap the name of the file you would like to download

3. Tap download

4. If you would like to open the file, tap open

This icon  indicates files which are currently saved locally to your device.

Desktop

To download a file that you have received from a contact in a message:

When you receive a file from a contact, it is displayed in the message they sent it in, and can also be found in the "Files" tab. To download the file directly from the message it was sent in:

  1. Click the file name
  2. Select where you would like to save your file, and click "save"
  3. You will find your file in the location you chose in step #2.

 

 

To download a file that you have uploaded or have received from a contact:

All your files, whether you uploaded by you or received from your contacts, can be found in the "Files" tab of Peerio. To download these files:

  1. Select the "Files" tab
  2. Click the name of the file you would like to download
  3. Select the "Download" icon, indicated with a downwards arrow
  4. Select where you would like to save your file, and click "save"
  5. You will be able to find your file in that location on your device
